Fall Adventure Come watch the season's change! Prince Albert National Park puts on a beautiful show for fall. What's your fall adventure?
The months immediately following summer are some of the very best times to experience Waskesiu. The pace slows, the colours change, and Prince Albert National Park takes on a quieter kind of beauty. From fall golf and hiking to wildlife viewing, birdwatching, photography and scenic drives, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the season - and plenty of opportunities to simply slow down and find your quiet. Take a walk along the Waskesiu River Trail, Spruce River Highlands Trail or the always-popular Boundary Bog Trail and enjoy the brilliant fall colours. Bring your camera - colourful landscapes, beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and more frequent wildlife sightings make fall an especially rewarding time for photography. A drive along Narrows Road is another fall favourite. Stop at one of the beaches along the way, watch for wildlife and pack a picnic lunch to enjoy at one of the park's picnic areas. Foxes are often spotted along this route, along with other wildlife that become easier to see as the park gets quieter. If fishing is more your speed, bring your rod and spend a peaceful morning or afternoon casting a line. Be sure to check current Parks Canada fishing regulations before heading out. And golfers still have time to fit in a few more rounds. The Waskesiu Golf Course typically remains open through the end of September, making fall a beautiful time to play. Be sure to check out the Hawood Inn's Weekday Golf Package and make a getaway of it. Not sure how to spend your day? Ask our team about their favourite fall experiences - they know Waskesiu and the park well and are always happy to share a few ideas. After a day outdoors, come back to the comfort of the Hawood Inn. Choose from comfortable guest rooms or spacious suites with full kitchens and balconies, enjoy a great meal in our restaurant, and finish the evening relaxing around the rooftop fire tables. Fall in Waskesiu is colourful, peaceful and wonderfully unhurried. Come find your quiet at the Hawood Inn.
